Why do squirrels have bushy tails?,How much does a squirrel weigh.

Squirrels are rodents, and come from the same animal family as rats and mice, but unlike these cousins, squirrels have big bushy tails. There are many factors that make these tails more than just impressive fashion accessories.
why do squirrels wag their tails

Squirrels use their tails primarily to balance as they run along branches. If squirrels are unlucky enough to fall , their tails act as a kind of parachute, making for a softer landing. On the ground, when the squirrels run, the tails act like rudders and help them to change direction at speed

In the long winter months, squirrels spend a lot of time curled up, using their tails as duvets, conserving heat and energy. In the summer, squirrels can use their tails as protection from the sun.

Tail help squirrels for defense. Firstly, their tails double the size of the squirrels, making them look bigger and scarier than they actually are. Secondly, the* squirrels shelter under their tails when on the ground, protect their bodies from birds of prey attacking from the sky.

So, squirrels' tails turn out to 1 be parasols, parachutes, ruders, balancing aids, duvets and shields! Oh, and it make them look cute, too!!!
